when buying and renovating an old home there is always the challenge that people today have different needs and expectations of how their house is laid out. this house had large rooms for a victorian, but only two bathrooms for six bedrooms. we were able to create an en-suite bathroom by taking out a walk-in closet and extending into the room by a foot. the new bath had a glass door shower, vintage pedestal sink and medicine cabinets niched into the wall to provide some storage. the white marble walls and floors make the space bright, even though there were no windows. the closet door was reused as the bathroom door to perfectly match the rest of the doors in the house. black fixtures add interest to the space. since the original closet was poorly laid out, it was not very useful. ikea pax was built along the entire wall opposite the bed instead, giving much more storage.
