this tiny beach house was listed as a one bedroom with a loft. we closed in the loft and it became a private bedroom with an en suite bathroom and large walk in closet, significantly increasing the usability and value of the home. there is a deck off the bedroom which we covered in astro turf and made into a kid friendly space with tanning chairs and a hammock. the length of the room was perfect for a double bunkbed with one set being xl twin and the other standard twin size. we designed the bunks to be closed in on the end so that each bunk on the bottom level has complete privacy when the curtains are closed. tension rods and blackout curtains hang within the bunk bed structure and can be opened and closed easily as needed. the top bunks are less private but still have curtains to keep light out. a floating shelf and lamp with a USB port make each bunk into a little room with everything a guest could need. kantha quilts made from recycled saris and vintage pillowcases in assorted patterns give the room colorful accents. the shag rug has braided accents that compliment the quilts. this room now sleeps four comfortably and even has a desk for working from home in the corner in a matching whitewashed color.
